In this episode of Twelve-Minute Convos with Jesus Believers, Engel Jones connects with theology scholar and minister Jason Byassee, joining the program from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Jason shares his unique faith origin story, growing up with parents who were not religious themselves but felt a quiet guilt that led them to send young Jason to a Baptist summer camp. It was there, at just eight years old, that Jason experienced the genuine, non-manipulative love of Christian camp counselors who passionately introduced him to Jesus. That single week of summer camp became a yearly anchor, eventually leading Jason to work at the camp as a teenager and immerse himself in campus ministries like Fellowship of Christian Athletes in high school and InterVarsity in college. These formative experiences ignited his desire to help others encounter Christ and led him into full-time ministry and theological scholarship. Alongside his wife, who also serves in pastoral leadership in Toronto, Jason reflects on the power of authentic Christian witness and the joy of discipling students and believers. If you want to be inspired by how God uses simple seeds of love to shape a lifelong calling, Jason's testimony will refresh your spirit!
