In this episode of 12-Minute Convos with Jesus Believers, Engel Jones connects with Pastor Diego Gomes, joining the show from Brazil. Diego shares a beautifully raw and honest testimony of meeting Jesus at just 13 years old. Growing up in a household overshadowed by severe domestic violence, addiction, and chaos, Diego's grandfather was an Assemblies of God pastor, yet Diego himself was completely disconnected from the church. Everything changed the night he stepped into a service, heard the songs of faith, and listened to a sermon about Jesus walking with the disciples on the Road to Emmaus. In that defining moment, Diego felt a supernatural peace and a spiritual fire that set the course for his life's mission. He opens up about his journey as a lifelong reader and how studying the Word equips us with divine wisdom rather than mere human knowledge.

Diego also shares the profound impact of traveling to the other side of the world to New Zealand. Serving at a YWAM (Youth With A Mission) base, Diego experienced deep emotional and spiritual healing by stepping away from his title to simply be "a random guy" serving others. He discusses the story behind the neck tattoo he received before leaving Brazil representing his core belief that "Hope is a person, and His name is Jesus". If you are currently facing a heavy storm, struggling with the pressures of ministry, or searching for a hope that outlasts this life, Diego's deep, compassionate reminder that Christ's presence is always enough will beautifully anchor your soul!
