In this episode of 12-Minute Convos with Jesus Believers, Engel Jones connects with Pastor Joey Bruce Miralo, tuning in from the Philippines. Joey opens up about his childhood as the youngest of nine siblings in a family that was not well-off. He honestly reflects on a season in his youth when he was homeless, struggled in school, and was considered a major "headache" by his family. But his entire trajectory was rewritten during his fourth year of high school. While swimming, he was caught in a violent undercurrent describing it as "washing machine type of water" and began to drown. With his lungs filling and unable to speak, Joey cried out the name of Jesus in his mind, only for the water to miraculously blow him up to the surface. That dramatic rescue led Joey straight to a restroom where he fell on his knees, wept, and surrendered his life to ministry. By age 18, while studying in seminary, he was already pastoring his very first church.

Over the last 35 years, Joey has witnessed God's hand move in breathtaking ways including a financial miracle that allowed him to send his daughter to a university in London. If you are walking through a season of lack, feeling like adisappointment, or looking to leave a lasting impact, Joey’s powerful testimony and his call to build a legacy that matters not just here, but hereafter, will deeply set your soul on fire!
