In this episode of 12-Minute Convos with Jesus Believers, Engel Jones connects with men's coach and author Mike Van Pelt, joining the program from Northwest Arkansas after recently relocating from Georgia. Growing up in a Christian home, Mike spent his entire life attending church, but for decades he felt a missing component in his faith. On the outside, he was active in church, but on the inside, he was wearing a mask, hiding from his true self, and struggling with shame. Everything transformed during a men's retreat in the spring of 2019.

While listening to the song You Are Love by Josh Groban, Mike experienced a profound spiritual awakening. In that quiet moment, Jesus spoke directly to his heart, reminding him that he was God's beloved son and inviting him into true intimacy. That encounter changed his entire personal and business life, inspiring him to launch True Man coaching to help men shed their masks, embrace vulnerability, and model their lives after Jesus Christ. If you have ever felt like you were just going through the motions in your faith or wearing a mask for the world, Mike's story will deeply inspire you to step into authentic intimacy with God!
